This lovely tour to the Channel area enables you to not only meet some of Tasmania’s passionate producers but also see some of the wonderful scenery of North West Bay and D’Entrecasteaux Channel. Our first stop is to visit Rex at Kelty Farm to discuss his organic farming methods for Black Angus, apples and Berkshire pigs.

Then, depending on the time of year and his availability it is off to Yves at Miellerie Honey to learn where Yves places his hives in Tassie so his honey gets all its rich different flavours , we also enjoy a fabulous taste test.

Yves spends long periods of time out in the wilderness with his ‘ladies’ so it is not always possible to visit him.

We then travel to Hartzview Vineyard where we get to taste their amazing range of fruit wines. Not only are they good to drink some are incredible over ice cream!

This is also our lunch stop and after lunch there will be time to wander around the Heritage Pickers Village which gives an amazing insight to the conditions that pickers endured during the season.

Then it’s off to meet Chris at Diemen Peppers where we will learn about the growing and harvesting of these wonderful native pepper trees. Your nose will be delighted with the wonderful smell of the leaves and berries in the sorting shed as you learn some of the uses for this wonderful product.

It is then a very short drive to Grandvewe Cheese where you will see all the aspects of sheep's cheese production and get to taste test their delicious range of cheese and much more including Kransky and wines. Depending on the time of day and year we may be able to view the sheep being milked, or see the new lambs.

Our last stop of the day is to Nutpatch where you will meet the amazing and generous John or as I call him “Mr Chocolate”! There is nothing John does not know about the art of chocolate making and he likes nothing better than to explain why his process produces such wonderful results. However, be warned, there is one very difficult thing you will find at this stop and that is trying to make a decision about which chocolates you want to take home!
